Yan Mei

Mei joined the Publications and Dissemination unit in early May 2009 as an intern. She assisted with updating the UNRISD web site, media outreach, and information dissemination. She wrote text for the website, liased with local and international media, edited news articles and press releases and disseminated information regarding upcoming events, vacancies and publications.
Before coming to UNRISD, she worked as an external relations executive at China Policy Institute, a think tank based at the University of Nottingham (UK), and as a research fellow at the University of Westminster (UK), focusing on adverting, marketing and business strategies.

She also worked as an editor in a wireless service provider in Shanghai, China.

Mei holds a Masters Degree in International Journalism from City University London. She worked as a sports freelance for BBC Chinese Service, with a particular interest in football.
