UNRISD at the HLPF: Science-to-Practice in Action
UNRISD research is playing a vital role supporting the wide-ranging discussions around countries’ progress so far on achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development taking place at the 2021 UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF). In the context of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the majority of the events were held online, which served to increase their global accessibility and provide video recordings allowing for flexible viewing of the events. UNRISD co-hosted an official HLPF side event as well as a workshop at the SDGs Learning, Training and Practice Session, and UNRISD experts were invited speakers at three additional side events.

Their contributions were examples of science-to-practice in action, where knowledge gained through long-term research and study were shared and discussed with actors in the international development scene, feeding into the thinking that guides action and policy making at national and international levels.
