Tabea Goldboom

Former Visiting Fellow

Tabea Goldboom joined UNRISD as a Visiting Research Fellow in July 2012 to study the potential and limitations of climate-related (micro) insurance schemes, with a particular view to the politics of their introduction and their social ramifications.

Tabea is currently involved in a PhD programme at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. In her thesis, she explores the introduction of an agricultural micro-insurance scheme in Bolivia from a sociological perspective. Among her current research interests are micro-insurance and social protection.

Prior to undertaking her PhD, Tabea participated in the postgraduate course of the German Development Institute (DIE/ GDI) in Bonn, Germany, and she has worked for German development cooperation. She also worked as a Research Assistant at Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik – German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin. Tabea has an M.A. in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, USA.
