Adrian Leftwich

Former Collaborating Researcher

Adrian Leftwich collaborated with UNRISD for the project Poverty Reduction and Policy Regimes (2007-2010) and the flagship report: Combating Poverty and Inequality (2006-2010), for which he wrote a paper on Developmental State Capacity and Institutional Reform. At the time of his collaboration, Leftwich was Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics, University of York, UK, where he taught The Comparative Politics of Development.
Leftwich holds a DPhil degree. He has published widely on state building and development, including States of Development,'Forms of Democratic Developmental State, Changing Configurations of the Developmental State, and Democracy and Development: Is there an Institutional Incompatibility?
