Joachim Roth

Former Intern (Research)

Joachim joined UNRISD in March 2018 to assist with various projects in the Social Dimensions of Sustainable Development programme, including projects on just energy transitions, and climate justice and sustainable development linkages. He assists both Paul Ladd and Dunja Krause in research, communication, and project development activities. Joachim is interested in green growth, social policy, and how to integrate climate change policy with local livelihoods. His Master's dissertation was on how to promote a solar industrial policy in India and the federal challenges of ensuring equitable development within different states.

Prior to joining UNRISD, Joachim worked for LSE Enterprise and Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton. He also did an internship in Peru with Nexos Voluntarios, working on a community-based development scheme. He holds a Bachelor's degree from McGill University in Political Science and Economics, and a Master's degree in development studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
