Duygu Avci

Former Collaborating Researcher

Duygu Avci was a winner in the First Edition of the UNRISD Young Scholars Think Piece Series, held in the first half of 2014. The theme was Extractive Industries and Social Development. The title of her contribution is “Paving a national avenue on top of a complex network of trails: Contentions around mineral extraction in Ecuador.”

When she submitted her think piece to UNRISD, Duygu Avci was a PhD researcher at the International Institute of Social Studies of the Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands where she was affiliated with the research group “Political Economy of Resources, Environment and Population”.
