Fiona Williams
Former Collaborating Researcher
Fiona Williams collaborated with UNRISD for the project Political and Social Economy of Care, 2006-2009. For the project she wrote a thematic paper Claiming and Framing in the Making of Care Policies: the Recognition and Redistribution of Care, 2010.At the time of her collaboration, she was Professor of Social Policy in the School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds, UK. She has written widely on gender, 'race' and ethnicity in social policy, and has been researching the employment of migrant workers in home-based care in Europe. Her research interests focus on the place of care in contemporary society, including the changing nature of family lives and personal relationships, and the development of a political ethic of care.
