Désirée Abrahams

Désirée Abrahams worked at UNRISD as Research Assistant in 2002-2004. Previously, she had worked for the Commonwealth Institute in London, England, and completed her MSc. Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies. She attained a BSc. Geography and Population Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Désirée wrote "Regulating Corporations: A resource Guide" in 2004. In November 2003, she was responsible for organizing UNRISD's Conference on corporate social responsibility entitled, "Corporate Social Responsibility and Development: Towards a New Agenda" that took place at the Palais des Nations.

Also in 2003, she was awarded a commendation for the New Statesman Prize for New Political Writing. Her essay, "Can Developing Countries Retain Independence in Today's World?" can be found in the News and Views section of this website. In 2002, Désirée co-wrote the following chapters in the "World Review"; "Stinker Drinkers, A Mc Fudge?, Litigation Nation and Embracing Diversity", The Journal of Corporate Citizenship, Issue 8, Winter 2002.
