Veronica Montecinos

Former Collaborating Researcher

Veronica Montencinos collaborated with UNRISD for the project on Technocratic Policy Making and Democratization. For the project, she wrote a programme paper Economic Policy Making and Parliamentary Accountability in Chile, 2003.
At the time of the collaboration, she was Associate Professor of Sociology at Penn State University, McKeesport Campus, USA. She worked on the education of foreign economists in the United States. She is the author of Economists, Politics and the State in Chile, 1958-1994, and co-author of "The Privatization of Social Security and Women's Welfare: Gender Effects of the Chilean Reform."
