Rachel Slater

Rachel Slater collaborated with UNRISD on the flagship report Combating Poverty and Inequality (2010) for which she wrote a background thematic paper, Cash Transfers, Social Protection and Poverty Reduction. At the time of this collaboration, Slater was Research Fellow and Head of Programme at the Overseas Development Institute, United Kingdom. She specializes in social protection, food security and rural and agricultural development and has particular expertise in sub-Saharan Africa (especially Ethiopia, Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa and Zambia) and South Asia.
