Toshimitsu Shinkawa

Former Collaborating Researcher

Toshimitsu Shinkawa collaborated with UNRISD for the project Social Policy and Democratization, from 2002 to 2005, for which he wrote a case study on Japan.
At the time of this collaboration, Shinkawa was Professor of Political Science at the Law Faculty, Kyoto University. His major research interests lie in the fields of comparative welfare state research and labor politics. Major works include Nihon-gata Fukushi no Seiji-Keizaigaku (The Political Economy of Japanese-Style Welfare) and Sengo Nihon Seiji to Shakai Minshushugi (Social Democracy in Postwar Japan).
