Chuanbo Chen

Former Collaborating Researcher

Chuanbo Chen was part of the research team for the project Migration and Health in China. At the time of his collaboration, he was associate professor at the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China.
Chen holds a PhD from the School of Agricultural Economics at Huazhong Agricultural University, where he teaches econometrics and STATA. His main research interests focus on food economics, risk, poverty, health care and development. In 2008 he was awarded a BA/ESRC Chinese Fellowship in conjunction with the Institute of development studies (IDS) to research into the complex impacts of ill-health on household livelihoods. In 2008 he received the Hubei province Social Science Medal for contributions to the drought risk and farmer’s coping strategies.
