Dunja Krause is a Research Officer and leads the Institute’s work on social dimensions of climate change with a focus on just transition and transformative adaptation. She joined UNRISD in October 2014.

A geographer by training, she has previously worked at the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (2009-2014), focusing on vulnerability assessments to natural hazards, the development of a global risk index, and the evaluation of climate change adaptation options in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta. Dunja previously held a shorter post (2008-2009) with the United Nations Environment Programme in Vienna, working on the interlinkages between environment and security and transboundary environmental cooperation as a means of conflict prevention.
