John Knodel

Former Collaborating Researcher

John Knodel collaborated with UNRISD for the project Ageing, Development and Social protection 2001-2003. At the time of his collaboration, John Knodel was Professor of Sociology at the Population Studies Center, University of Michigan, USA.
He specializes in the areas of population dynamics and ageing in developing countries, with an emphasis on Thailand, and on European historical demography. He has also conducted several studies related to the social demography of education, especially in Thailand and Viet Nam.
