Eleanor Hutchinson

Eleanor joined the Gender and Development team in October 2006 as a post doctoral Research Analyst on the Political and Social Economy of Care Project.

Prior to joining UNRISD, Eleanor was a Research Fellow in the Department of Anthropology, University College, London. Her interest in social care stems from her research on the varieties of family, community and institutionally based care for orphaned children and youths in Malawi. She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from University College, London, an MA in Education and International Development from the Institute of Education, London and a BA in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex.
