Robert van Niekerk

Former Collaborating Researcher

Robert van Niekerk joined the team for the research project Towards Universal Social Security in Emerging Economies (2012- 2013). At the time of this collaboration, van Niekerk held the position of Director and Professor of Social Policy at the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) at Rhodes University. van Niekerk’s has a PhD from at Oxford and his research interests include institutional history, ideologies and understandings of social policy and change in South Africa.
