Christopher Pierson

Chris Pierson collaborated with UNRISD for the project Social Policy in a Development Context, 2000-2005, for which he published a paper Late Industrializers and the Development of the Welfare State, 2004. At the time of her collaboration, he was Professor of Politics at the University of Nottingham in the UK. He has held visiting research positions at the Australian National University and at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. His works include Hard Choices: Social Democracy in the 21st Century (2001), Cambridge: Polity Press; Beyond the Welfare State?
