Aída Hernández Castillo

Former Collaborating Researcher

Aída Hernández Castillo collaborated with UNRISd for the project Gender Justice, Development and Rights, 2000-2002. At the time of her collaboration, she was Researcher-Professor in the Center for High Studies in Social Anthropology (CIESAS), Mexico City, Mexico.
Hernández Castillo has a PhD in Anthropology from Stanford University, USA. She has carried out research projects in different regions of the state of Chiapas with Mexican peasants and Guatemalan refugees. She has published three books and several articles on gender, ethnic identity, legal anthropology and religion.
