Gloria Carrión Fonseca

Former Collaborating Researcher

Gloria Carrión collaborated with UNRISD for the project Politics of Domestic Resource Mobilization for Social Development as team leader for the Nicaragua case study. Gloria also wrote a paper on Regionalism and the Politics of Policy Making in Nicaragua for the programme on Markets, Business and Regulation in 2009.
At the time of her collaboration she was the director of the Fundación Internactional para el Desafio Económico Global (FIDEG) in Managua, Nicaragua. She previously worked as Programme Officer for Trade-supported Strategies for Development at the International Center for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) in Geneva Switzerland, as Analyst for the Permanent Mission of Nicaragua to the WTO and as Analyst and Technical Assistant at the International Trade Office of Commerce and Industry. Gloria earned a MSc in Environment and Development at the London School of Economics and a BA in International Development Studies and Biology (Double-major) at the Trent University in Canada.
