Nicola Wermer

Former Intern

Nicola Wermer joined UNRISD as an intern in July 2007 working in the Social Policy and Development Unit. She conducted preparatory research on social protection and poverty reduction for the UNRISD report on poverty and development, to be published in 2009.
Nicola holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the Humboldt University of Berlin and is completing her master’s degree in Politics/International Relations at the Free University of Berlin. Before joining UNRISD, she studied at the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales (IUHEI) in Geneva with an EU-funded Erasmus scholarship and participated in the 45th Graduate Study Programme of the United Nations. In addition to her studies, she has worked as an intern with developmental NGO’s in the USA and Germany as well as with the GTZ (German Society of Technical Cooperation).
