Harald Braumann

Former Research Analyst

Harald Braumann joined UNRISD as a Research Analyst in July 2013 to assist Senior Research Coordinator Katja Hujo with a project on the Politics of Domestic Resource Mobilization for Social Development and a joint UNRISD-UNICEF collaboration on Mobilizing Revenues from Extractive Industries: Protecting and Promoting Children's Rights and Wellbeing.
More recently, he also assisted with the coordination of the UNRISD Think Piece Series The Road to Addis and Beyond: Financing Social Development, a research project on Addressing Multiple Forms of Migrant Precarity, and the 2016 UNRISD Flagship Report Policy Innovations for Transformative Change: Implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
He has previously worked at the Institute, assisting Director Sarah Cook with research related to the Social Policy and Development Programme. During this time he worked on a variety of issues, which included social protection, migration, public health, and good financial governance.

Harald holds a Masters in Governance and Public Policy from the University of Passau, Germany and a Bachelor’s degree in Intercultural European and American Studies from the University of Halle, Germany with a regional focus on Latin America. His Masters dissertation scrutinized the activities of the German political foundations in promoting democracy in South Africa. Harald previously worked as a student research assistant to the Chair of Political Science at the University of Passau and held courses in scientific paper writing.
