Jon Altman
Former Collaborating Researcher
Jon Altman collaborated with UNRISD for the project Identity, Power and the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, 2006-2008. For the project, he participated in the Consultation Meetings. At the time of his collaboration, he was Director and Professor at the Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research of the Australian National University, Australia. He has a disciplinary background in economics and anthropology. His main books include Hunter-Gatherers Today: An Aboriginal Economy in North Australia (1987), Aborigines and Mining Royalties (1983) and The Economic Status of Australian Aborigines (with John Nieuwenhuysen, 1979/republished 2006).
