Gale Summerfield

Former Collaborating Researcher

Gale Summerfield collaborated with UNRISD for the project Agrarian change, Gender and Land Rights, 2000-2002. At the time of her collaboration, she was Director of the Women and Gender in Global Perspectives (WGGP) Program and Associate Professor in the Department of Human and Community Development at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA.
Summerfield has written extensively on gender aspects of socio-economic transformation policies including employment and intrahousehold bargaining changes in China and housing and land rights in East and Southeast Asia.
