With the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, world leaders have committed to “transforming our world” and leaving no one behind. What needs to happen to enable the 2030 Agenda to deliver on its transformative promise? In its 2016 Flagship Report, UNRISD has identified a wide range of innovations—policy, institutional, social, technological and conceptual—that can provide solutions to the complex and interrelated challenges that countries are facing.

Panellists at this seminar will discuss some of the key policy, institutional and technological innovations that can be harnessed to realize the 2030 Agenda. Guest speakers from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences will share their first-hand expertise and insights on innovation and sustainable development in China.
