UNRISD, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Institute for Futures Studies, held a workshop on the topic of “Social Policy and Migration in Developing Countries” on 22-23 November 2007 at the Institute for Futures Studies in Stockholm. The purpose of the workshop was to link migration with social development and social policy issues in the Global South. Results of the workshop will feed into a second research phase consisting of comparative country case studies with South-South migration flows in Latin America, Asia and Africa. Funding for the workshop was provided by Sida. The workshop was attended by representatives from the academic and policy community who offered excellent feedback to guide the second phase of the project.
