How Change Happens

Date: 7 Nov 2016

How Change Happens
How can we understand the events, individuals and institutions that change the world? Can we use this to change things for the better?

How Change Happens

How Change Happens explores how political and social change takes place, and the role of individuals and organizations in influencing that change.

During this Geneva stop on his global book tour, Duncan Green introduces the arguments of his new book, How Change Happens, which combines research with practical experience to explore the topic of social and political change. Drawing on many first-hand examples and insights from studying and working on international development, it offers the latest thinking on what works to achieve progressive change.

The presentation will be followed by Q&A.

"The world committed to global transformative change in 2015, with the 2030 Agenda and ... the Paris Climate Agreement… . We need to understand how change happens in order to accelerate our pathway to a safe future. Duncan Green’s book is a timely and badly needed guide to bringing about the necessary social and political change." – Mary Robinson

"This is a splendid treatise on how to change the actual world—in reality, not just in our dreams." – Amartya Sen
